Item RS System - stainless-steel framework building made easy
The Item RS System is an entirely stainless steel bolt-together structural system based around 40mm stainless tube.
Machine Building Systems has been designing with and supplying the Item range, the world's largest aluminium framework system, since 1989. Now the company is launching a completely new concept - in stainless steel.
Ideal for situations where the look of a framework is important, or in clean rooms, the new RS System is an entirely stainless steel bolt-together structural system based around 40mm stainless tube. Even though the tube is plain round tube, it is still possible, thanks to some ingenious design, to simply drill a hole and then insert (and remove if desired) a nut.
Individual solutions are the key: the tubes can be joined in a wide variety of ways. In this way, it is possible to create complex three-dimensional objects.
Item's high load-bearing fasteners ensure the greatest possible strength at the joints without welding or gluing and with no subsequent machining. Joining the tubes is a matter of minutes and the fastening elements are virtually invisible inside the tubes.
The tubular frames form the "backbone" of an almost unlimited number of applications. Panels can be included as permanent fittings or as swivelling attachments to create side panels, floors, swivelling doors or flaps. Various component attachments for any field of application can be screwed on and subsequent modifications and additions made.
Construction requires no specific technical knowledge and only a few standard tools. The sets of connectors and fasteners have been compiled so as to leave the user in no doubt as to their application.
