Ball feet allow machine guards to be floor mounted
Where cell guards or
enclosures are floor mounted, rather than fitted to a machine structure,
then provision needs to be made in many cases to accommodate uneven floors
or general level irregularities.
The adjustable ball foot mounting from the Item range available from
Machine Building Systems has been designed for this purpose.
It is fitted to a rigid upright and can be used with both the line 6 and
line 8 profiles in the Item range.
It comprises a black zinc die-casting which incorporates a ball socket on
the underside.
A mating circular steel ring is used which provides +/-4deg of rotational
inclination which is sufficient to counter local variations on most
flooring.
The single floor fixing hole provided also allows up to 6mm of horizontal
movement of the foot which can be used for positioning before being
tightened.
This eliminates the need for accurate drilling of location holes in
concrete, which can be a difficult operation on site.
Once the uprights are installed, it is a simple matter to then hang the
prefabricated panels on them using proprietary components in the Item
range.
Minor variations in position and angular settings are allowed for in the
method of construction, with panels interchanged on site without
machining.
An entire cell guarding system can be easily installed by one person in a
few hours.
